My Design Thinking Strategy
1. Empathize
Researching and Synthesizing. Identifying and understanding a problem. Learning about the target audience and competitors. Conducting empathy interviews. Building an Empathy Map revealing current positive user experiences and painpoints. Creating a collective Persona based on the market research and interviews.
4. Prototype
Designing Wireframes, Branding, & Interactive Prototype. Starting with hand-drawn Low-Fidelity sketches. Refining ideas and developing it to basic grey-scale Mid-Fidelity wireframes. After working on Branding and UI guidelines, the High-Fidelity wireframes will be built as a base for a prototype for testing.
2. Define
Defining Product Development Strategy. Setting business goals, user goals, and understanding what do they have in common. Framing actionable problems or Point-Of-View (POV) statements and How-Might-We (HMW) questions. Prioritizing the most important questions to solve setting the ground for ideation.
5. Test
User Testing, Synthesizing, Prioritizing Changes. Conducting Usability Testing in-person and/or remotely. Recording, transcribing and analyzing user feedback. Assess user quotes for the Affinity Map, searching for repeated behavioral patterns, deriving insights, and generating solutions for design changes.
3. Ideate
Brainstorming Ideas & Prioritizing Solutions. Generating all kinds of ideas that might solve chosen HMW questions. Reviewing and prioritizing the best solutions to work on. Bringing to life a typical user scenario through a Storyboard, Task Flow, and User Flow in order to understand user actions precisely.
6. Implement
Implementing Feedback into Final Revisions. Based on the Affinity Map evaluation of the most important issues and possible design solutions, I implement the most valuable changes to the final High-Fidelity wireframes and, hence, the final interactive prototype. This step might also circle back to previous stages.
